Using the Web for All it's Worth

How one of our clients is rockin the web

We've said for a while now that a website is just not enough anymore.  A static site with two year old content can be just as detrimental as not having a website.  Our clients take this to heart, and Find Great People is one who is truly getting all they can out of the web.  Here is a quick look at some of their best practices.

First, they had a very clear brand position in mind, to be seen as knowledge leader in their industry.  This helped them immensely when it came to their site architecture.  What needed to be on the site and where it needed to live.  With the architecture in place, they had the tools at their disposal to start shouting their message to the masses.

Second, aside from just their website, they knew that content would need to reside in other places. A strategy would be in order to use social media, blogs and newsletters to drive traffic back to their site.  All are helpful for SEO purposes, and having the blog integrated helps even more.  FGP is using these outlets almost every day.

Third, they didn't leave it up to one single person to generate content.  It is a true team effort.  Consultants, Business Development, and Marketing folks are all cranking out content.  Consistently generating new ideas can't be executed by the Marketing Director alone, and FGP has done a great job of recruiting others into the fray.

Fourth, their content strategy is really well done.  You never feel as if FGP is hawking their wares.  Instead they are providing insightful industry information with a touch of company culture and news for good measure.  They are also unafraid to post outside articles and links that they see value in.  It's just too difficult to post only proprietary content, plus it's not a great practice in today's world.  Unless you want to look snooty. By the way, we haven't even mentioned their operational content, as in what they actually do.  FGP's "Find, Develop, Retain and Transition" model is clearly stated throughout the site, and the content within, such as job postings, are updated frequently and easy to search.

Bottom Line:  A website is great, but only if you devise a strategy to use it to its fullest potential.  Kudos to Find Great People for rockin the web and the great year they are having
