“Content is King!” This statement has been shouted from the roof tops of Digital Marketers for years.  And, they are right.  Content on a website is very important.  It contains those valuable keywords and links that provide the feed Google and other search engines look for when calculating rankings.

However, one needs to pay attention to the reader at the same time.  Inundating a visitor to your website with way too many words at the wrong time can turn them away, or cause them to miss the point you are trying to make or sell.

So what are some ways that you can add delicious content for the search engines without boring your visitors?  Below is a beginning list of ways to be creative and strategic with content placement:

1. Add image tags to your photos.
2. Add captions below images, where appropriate.
3. Place downloadable and readable pdf’s for additional information.
4. Create interactive pieces of information that appear when a part of the site is scrolled over.

There are many other creative ways to add content to your website that can quickly increase your word count by 100 to 200 words, or more … and that can make a big difference in how search engines score your pages.
