Katie came to South Carolina from Michigan in 2006 to attend Bob Jones University where she majored in Political Science. As a student, she became very active in local political races and even managed a state house race her senior year. After graduating, she traveled around the Midwest on a PR campaign and found her love for marketing and social media. Today, Katie manages the daily operations, as well as helps with Merge’s own marketing and content strategies.
A lover of all things Detroit sports, Katie is also a veritable walking sports almanac.

Merge is counting down our 5 favorite Brands on Twitter. Now, we realize this is completely subjective, but some brands get it right and some don't. Like most people my age, I'm attached to my cell phone. It’s very rare that I leave my phone at home or am unavailable to answer calls, texts, or emails. I’m always connected to the outside world, and that’s mainly because of social media apps. I’m constantly checking Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates or breaking news. In fact, thanks to Twitter, I was the first of my friends to learn that the Detroit Tigers signed Prince Fielder to a 9 year contract, and you can bet that I was sending out mass texts to everyone I knew within seconds.
