Merge is looking for a Business Development Manager that has a minimum five years experience of consultative, solutions-based selling and a solid understanding of marketing and digital technology. Candidates must have a successful sales track record to be considered. The best candidates will bring an in-depth understanding of digital marketing and interactive solutions.

Job Description: 

As Merge's Business Development Manager (BDM), your primary role is to prospect those companies which can benefit from a comprehensive, strategic approach to developing a result-oriented digital strategy, and efficiently close such sales opportunities. The majority of leads will be generated by your prospecting and be supplemented by Merge's marketing efforts.

Required Skills: 
  1. Consultative, Solutions Based Selling Skills. You are an expert salesperson and excel at taking initiative to network and prospect for new business leads. You can sift opportunities and focus on those with the greatest potential impact for new business. You systematically track your weekly activity, including introductions and sales meetings with prospective customers, all the time consulting and working toward solutions with them as you build the relationship. Ultimately, you are all about driving the process to close new business deals. You are motivated by a commission salary structure.
  2. Self-Starter. You initiate and drive new business activity and have no problem keeping the sales funnel filled.
  3. Results-oriented. You begin with the end in mind and work diligently, staying on-task to achieve pre-established goals. You are known for getting things done.

Other Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in sales roles
  • Comfortable working with C-Level and VP-Level Prospects
  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA not required but a strong plus)
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) a must
  • Prior experience selling for an advertising or technology firm
  • Ability to demonstrate meeting quotas in past sales roles
  • Prior experience in previous sales role of closing $1MM+ per year in new sales
  • Familiarity and experience with CRM systems a strong plus
  • Ability to work in a challenging, dynamic, and high-growth environment.
